Inherent Vice: the novel becomes a film

The new film by Paul Thomas Anderson, based on the homonym novel by Thomas Pynchon -the title was translated into Spanish as "Vicio Propio"-, will be released today in the US. The seventh film of the Californian Director has a truly grand cast: Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Katherine Waterston, Owen Wilson, Reese Witherspoon, Benicio del Toro and Eric Roberts are some of the names that bring to life the main characters in such a vicious story.

Beforehand, the Pynchon-Anderson tandem promises a result that does not leave anyone indifferent. The postmodern Pynchon's prose could not have a better ally than Anderson's talent in using audiovisual narrative. As a result, the highly anticipated film adaptation of one of the most psychedelic novels from the Long Island genius.


Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Katherine Waterston, Owen Wilson, Reese Witherspoon, Benicio del Toro and Eric Roberts are some of the names that bring to life the main characters in such a vicious story.

In Spain, where the title of the Spanish dubbed version has been translated as "Puro Vicio", we will still have to wait until next March 13, 2015 to attend its premiere. When that day comes, it will be time to write the second part of this post.
